Dear cPanel Customers;
We would like to bring your attention to a recent update from cPanel about a security breach to their service. Their security team is continuing to investigate the nature of this exploit, however, cPanel is not aware of the potential impact this may cause.
At myhosting.com, we take this very seriously as we understand the importance of your server and the content within it. We have contacted all suspected customers over phone and email that are required to enhance their security measures on the VPS. One of the methods taken by myhosting.com is a change to the compromised root password. Under these circumstances we have enforced an update to a new password, different than the previous password.
With recent news as announced by cPanel on Feb 21st, please refer to this link for all details;

From this article you will gather the following information;
- cPanel, Inc. has discovered that one of the servers we utilize in the technical support department has been compromised.
- We require a change to your root level password if you are not already using ssh keys.
- If you are using an unprivileged account with “sudo” or “su” for root logins, we recommend you change the account password. Even if you are using ssh keys we still recommend rotating keys on a regular basis.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to provide you the utmost confidence in the security measures taken to avoid any issues from arising.
